Start by looking in the phone book for your local Drug and Alcohol Commission. You can make an appointment to have an assessment done and they will pay for your treatment. It shouldn't matter how much money you made in the past. Your current financial situation is what counts. The D & A Commission will also have the names of treatment centers they are willing to pay for. I have spent the last 8 1/ 2 years here in PA working at a D & A Halfway Home for Adults. This is how our clients receive treatment. They also can apply for medical assistance at their local welfare offices and once that becomes active there is a Managed Care attached to it that funds treatment also. Don't give up hope. Also, there are many who attend AA meetings that have been in the same boat. Going to a meeting and asking people there what you can do is also an option. You will find many who are willing to take that extra step to help others find the help they had. |
